The Ambassador to Colombia, Tomás Guanipa, condemned that Daniel Ortega’s dictatorship in Nicaragua uses the same persecution and repression strategies as Nicolás Maduro’s regime in Venezuela.
The Venezuelan diplomat rejected in his social network accounts that four presidential candidates have been disqualified and persecuted by the Nicaraguan regime with the aim of perpetuating themselves in power.
“This practice of regimes that, like Nicaragua’s, violate human, civil and political rights must be strongly condemned by the international community,” said Guanipa.
However, he indicated that it is not enough just to make statements, but it is necessary to take forceful actions and diplomatic pressure.
Daniel Ortega has ordered the persecution of four presidential candidates in Nicaragua: Félix Madariaga, Juan Sebastián Chamorro, Cristiana Chamorro and Antonio Cruz, to carry out fraudulent elections in which no participant can compromise his victory.
