During this week, Nicolas Maduro’s criminal regime has executed new actions against members and collaborators of the legitimate government of President in charge of the Republic of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, which have resulted in persecutions and searches carried out by the Bolivarian Intelligence Service (SEBIN) and the General Directorate of Military Counter-Intelligence (DGCIM) at their residences and those of their relatives in Venezuela.
All of these facts reaffirm the systematic political persecution of the tyranny towards the members and collaborators of the Interim Government and once again reveal the totalitarian nature of the dictatorship.
The Venezuelan Ambassador to Honduras, Dr. Claudio Sandoval, stated in a clear and emphatic manner: “This new act is characteristic of a tyranny that harasses, persecutes and oppresses political dissidents, with the intention of criminalizing citizens who have put their names, integrity and prestige at the service of the country’s recovery. These arbitrary actions do not leave any room for doubt regarding what was stated in the report of the independent Fact-Finding Mission of the UN Commission on Human Rights and later by the oral update of the report of the High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet, which indicate in an unequivocal manner, that the regime that usurps power in Venezuela has carried out violations of Human Rights in a systematic way that reaches various levels as a State policy: Searches, extrajudicial executions, arbitrary detentions, torture, cruel and inhuman treatment, etc.”
The office of President Juan Guaidó issued an alert to the international community through which it calls on the international community, especially the Fact-Finding Mission of the UN Human Rights Council, as well as the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, to condemn and deplore in the most forceful manner, these actions against this group of Venezuelan citizens who have understood the importance of generating their contributions in the search for alternatives and solutions for the restoration of democracy in the country.
“The dictator must be clear that all of us who are part of the legitimate and constitutional government led by President Guaidó, and all good Venezuelans, have decided to fight against this tyranny until freedom is achieved, so I am in solidarity with my colleagues and all the members of our government, victims of these persecutions, Venezuela does not surrender,” said the ambassador.
Likewise, the Ambassador manifested that a joint and energetic action of the Venezuelan freedom-loving people is essential, with the accompaniment of other States and International Organizations, to put an end as soon as possible to the suffering caused by the serious humanitarian crisis that the country is living, generated by the corruption of a criminal and opprobrious regime. Therefore, he reiterated the call to the international community to exert more pressure against the dictator and to continue supporting the formation of a National Emergency Government that would guarantee the freedoms and full validity of the rule of law and would create the conditions to carry out truly fair, free and competitive presidential and parliamentary elections.
