The Director of Consular Affairs of the Venezuelan Embassy to the United States, Brian Fincheltub, reiterated that the application of the first phase of vaccination to combat COVID-19 should prioritize the healthcare sector and the elderly.
“Vaccination must begin with our healthcare personnel who are on the front line of combat against COVID-19 and our most vulnerable population, the elderly,” Fincheltub declared on his official Twitter account.
Last Thursday, the dictator Nicolás Maduro declared to the country that the initial vaccination process would prioritize the military and members of the political elite, including mayors, governors and deputies.
The President (E) of the Republic, Juan Guiadó and other members of the Legitimate Government spoke against this.
The Venezuelan Head of State stressed that the regime only safeguards its own interests and the importance that the vaccines are distributed in Venezuela through the COVAX system with the assistance of PAHO and UNICEF.
