Ambassador to the United States Carlos Vecchio thanked the U.S. government for sanctioning and establishing a $5 million reward for the capture of Maikel Moreno, president of the illegitimate Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).
The Venezuelan diplomat commended the U.S. State Department, led by Mike Pompeo, and Donald Trump’s administration for maintaining international pressure against those who lead the Venezuelan regime.
“We thank Mike Pompeo, the State Department and the administration of President Donald Trump for their constant pressure on Maduro’s dictatorship,” the ambassador said through his personal Twitter account.
Vecchio also recalled that Maikel Moreno has contributed, from the Chavista TSJ, to the consolidation of Maduro’s narco-regime.
For his part, Pompeo explained that Maikel José Moreno Pérez is an ally of Maduro, and that from his position, which is illegitimate, he has benefited personally by accepting bribes to change the outcome of criminal cases in Venezuela.
“By incriminating him publicly today, we are sending a clear message: the United States is firmly against corruption,” he said.
The document published by the U.S. State Department says that among the crimes charged against Morenos is money laundering.
