The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain will travel to Colombia to learn about the situation of Venezuelan migrants

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Arancha González Laya, will arrive in Colombia on February 25th to verify the condition of Venezuelan migrants at the border.

González plans to arrive at the Cúcuta border on Saturday, February 27th, as part of the Spanish Government’s commitment to address the Venezuelan migration crisis, which to date has led to the mobilization of 1.72 million migrants to Colombian territory.

Among other things, the minister will evaluate the impact that the recently approved Temporary Protection Statute has had, which will benefit the entire Venezuelan diaspora.

According to the agenda, González will also meet with representatives of the institutions that emerged from the peace accords, local authorities, companies and Spanish NGOs.
