Thanks to the joint work between Colombia and the Interim Government, Venezuelan nationals who do not possess a valid Colombian identification document will be able to register and take the high school validation exam with the Venezuelan identity document.
However, in order to safeguard the right to education, enshrined in Art. 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, they may present any document, certification or administrative act issued by a Colombian or Venezuelan authority that allows the inference that it is the same person, and may even prove it with the certificate of registration in the Administrative Registry of Venezuelan Migrants in Colombia (RAMV), issued by the National Unit for the Management of Disaster Risks (UNGRD), as proof of being in the process of migratory regularization or the Consular Registry issued by the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, among others.
To obtain the results, Venezuelan citizens must present a proof of identity validation issued by the Venezuelan Embassy in Colombia.
The registration to the exam and the approval of it, has exclusive effects for the purpose of issuing the HighSchool degree, however, it does not generate migratory status.
The submission of these documents will be required by the Icfes after receiving the test and only those examinees who pass the exam will be notified to the e-mail address provided by the examinee at the time of registration.
The results will be published and the diploma will be awarded after the official date, once Icfes has verified that the documents have been sent and that they are suitable.
The certificate of degree and diploma will be issued with the Venezuelan ID card with which it was registered, without prejudice to the fact that such data may be updated with a valid identification document in Colombia when it is obtained.
