The National Assembly announced that thanks to an agreement between the Government in charge of Venezuela and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), has arrived in the country a donation of protective equipment for health workers on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We know it’s not enough, these supplies are just a contribution,” said the National Parliament through its official Twitter account.
Furthermore, it stressed that in Venezuela “it is urgent to form a National Emergency Government, which by working together has achieved alliances such as the one that today materialized with PAHO and the Red Cross to help Venezuela get out of the deep crisis.
It also stressed that, according to specialized international organizations, Venezuela is among the three countries least prepared to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
The National Assembly blamed the mismanagement of the crisis on Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship, insisting that “the regime not only destroyed the health system but has had handled the pandemic irresponsibly. The regime did not take advantage of the previous 5 months to strengthen the capacity for attention and now create improvised hospitals lacking supplies.”
“Venezuelans are clear that the regime the only one responsible for making us more vulnerable and in danger today because of the absolute destruction of our health system,” it concluded.
El régimen no solo destruyó el sistema de salud sino que ha tenido un manejo irresponsable de la pandemia, no aprovecharon los 5 meses de cuarenta para fortalecer la capacidad de atención y ahora crean hospitales improvisados sin insumos. #VzlaEnEmergenciaXCovid
