The Deputy of the National Assembly (NA), Juan Pablo Guanipa, reiterated this Thursday that, despite all the abuses and illegal actions carried out by Nicolas Maduro’s regime, the dictatorship has not been able to end the Republic because Venezuelans believe and fight for democracy.
“In spite of so much viciousness, of alliances with drug trafficking, terrorism, the axis of evil like Russia, Iran and Cuba, do you know why they have not been able to finish us off as a society and a republic? Because we have a deep democratic conviction and we fight in all fields,” he said.
The also vice-president of the NA, recalled that Venezuelans have had to live through the destruction of institutions by the laziness of the dictatorship. However, he insisted that Venezuelans are the citizens who most support democratic processes that lead to freedom.
“In our journey to recover democracy we have advanced a lot. We have participated in elections, we have taken to the streets and we will continue to do everything necessary for Venezuela. That is why our students, political leaders and citizens have been persecuted, exiled, imprisoned and even killed,” he recalled.
Guanipa explained that Maduro’s regime seeks to corner the democratic society that seeks Venezuela’s freedom. However, he stressed that the legitimate government of President Juan Guaidó continues to be firm in the fight to achieve a way out of the dictatorship.
He also insisted that free and transparent votes are the way out of the dictatorship, despite the fact that the regime is currently hijacking the National Electoral Council (CNE).
“What they are now trying to do is a farce, a trap, a lie. Our freedom will restore the right to vote for all Venezuelans, those who emigrated and the new voters,” he said.
The parliamentarian assured that the Legitimate Government will conquer the CNE and transform it into a reliable and accountable electoral body so that Venezuelans can vote without intimidation.
“Venezuela wants democracy, it wants to vote, but the most important thing is that it wants to choose and between all of us united we will conquer the electoral elections of freedom. It’s time for resistance! Venezuela will triumph,” he concluded.
