National Assembly Deputy Manuela Bolívar thanked the international community and the Pan American Health Organization for their commitment to support Venezuelans who are vulnerable due to the crisis caused by the dictatorship and worsened by the pandemic.
Bolívar extended his thanks for the 20 tons of protective equipment for health personnel in 31 hospitals and health centers in the country.
“The supplies were distributed during the first two weeks of July, in the main hospitals of the six states that concentrate the greatest number of confirmed cases in the country,” she said, mentioning Bolivar State, Capital District, Miranda, Apure, Tachira and Zulia States.
The Parliamentary informed that the allocation included more than 1.2 million masks, 200,000 masks with respirators, 130,000 masks, 21,000 gowns and 9,000 protective safety glasses.
Bolivar reported that the delivery was supervised by representatives of the World Health Organization, who also provided guidance on the proper use of biosafety equipment.
“A National Emergency Government is more urgent than ever to guarantee the life and freedom of Venezuelans,” she said.
