The Deputy of the National Assembly for Vargas State, Milagros Eulate, affirmed that there are no necessary conditions for the beginning of face-to-face classes in Venezuela.
The parliamentarian pointed out that the entity has registered an increase in the number of people infected by Covid-19, so that the return to classes would endanger the lives of teachers, students, representatives, workers and administrative personnel of the institutions.
“We are clear and we are aware that education is a right, but also life is a right. If we lose our lives, how do we educate?” Ms. Eulate asserted.
Likewise, the parliamentarian for Acción Democrática’ party emphasized that there is a commitment on the part of educators to resume teaching, but they require minimum conditions to do so.
“We call on parents and representatives to evaluate what is more important at this time, your child’s health or education,” she added.
Furthermore, she explained that education can continue to be taught remotely, while the number of infections in the region decreases and the entire population is vaccinated.
