The Deputy of the National Assembly for Amazonas State, Romel Guzamana, referred to the reality that indigenous peoples suffer caused by the lack of vaccines against Covid-19 in most of their communities.
“If we have diseases that have not been dealt with, and it is worse now with this Covid pandemic. Along the entire border, we have seen with great concern that indigenous peoples are isolated. In addition, they do not have access to medical care,” denounced Mr. Guzamana.
The parliamentarian also rejected the negligent and inappropriate system that the dictatorship has implemented to select those who will be vaccinated. Furthermore, he explained that the regime is using a system that when you register, should send the date and place to receive the vaccine after a while.
“Gentlemen, in Amazonas, Zulia, Delta Amacuro, there are no smartphones. How do the indigenous inhabitants get a message so that they can receive their vaccinations,” he pondered.
Finally, the deputy affirmed that the handling of the pandemic in Venezuela is going from bad to worse and urged that a real vaccination plan be deployed that immediately benefits indigenous peoples.
