The deputy of the National Assembly, Luis Florido, reported that the tour of the parliamentarians that make up the Delegate Commission deployed through various states of Venezuela, has as purpose, in addition to talking with the people, also listening to them, knowing what their problems and needs are, and at the same time he urged that united we continue to fight for the rescue of freedom and democracy in Venezuela.
This was remarked by the parliamentarian this Wednesday, February 17th, in a tour of the deputies of the legitimate National Assembly through Vargas State, an activity that is accompanied with the slogan: Together with the people, with courage we continue to fight for democracy!
The legislator asserted that they will continue to tour the country. On this occasion they decided to visit the Vargas State, where he reiterated that he has no weapons, no police or the army, “we do not have any of the forces that Maduro’s regime has.”
“Without a doubt, the regime can imprison us or do anything to us, but we have something very powerful such as words, strength, courage and that is what motivates us to be here and continue in the fight. And we are not going to kneel before Maduro’s regime, they are going to find us in the street head on, standing and fighting until we achieve the freedom of the country, therefore I call on all citizens to join us in this fight.”
Florido told those present that the opposition is united and that all political parties participate: Accion Democratica, Un Nuevo Tiempo, Voluntad Popular y Primero Justicia . “We represent diversity.”
The Results of the Popular Consultation is central to everything that is decided in the AN
Deputy María Gabriel Hernández suggested setting aside anti-politics, “because we are all politicians, some of us participate in political parties, but politics touches us all and this is a moment in the country where party and citizen cannot be separated, because the challenge we have is to achieve freedom, this is too great and deep for us to have differences.”
Regarding the issue of how to get rid of the dictatorship, the parliamentarian referred to the achievement that the AN accomplished in December 2020, with the Popular Consultation and in her opinion, the result is not being appreciated in its proper dimension.
“This consultation is central to everything we decide and what we are doing from the AN, is nothing more than pushing for this will to be transformed into political action in the country.”
She asserted that it will be through a referendum, regional elections, but everything must be done in order to defeat the dictatorship in peace through free, fair and verifiable elections.
She indicated that the national line of the parties is to fight for freedom, it is the rescue of democracy and the opportunity for a life for Venezuelans.
She said that the crisis in Venezuela has hit the regions with much more force, but at the same time, she urged that this force come out from the same regions and make itself felt. For this to happen, the demands of nurses, educators and businessmen must have a single aim, “we must support ourselves in our localities no matter how many differences we have because we all want to get rid of this misfortune, therefore, let’s push towards that exit and for this we have as a tool the results of the Popular Consultation that are binding, the legitimate deputies of the AN must work, but not by ourselvesalone, we have to articulate ourselves.”
Alone and apart we won’t get anywhere
To conclude, deputy José Hernández who is also a national director of the Broad Front, took the floor and remarked that from the political point of view unity has become a value and a strategic element, “here alone and apart we are not going to arrive anyhere, we are all necessary, that is why the concept and philosophy of Frente Amplio is everyone’s house, that house has no door, no window, and no number because we can all fit in it.”
