The Presidential Commissioner for Foreign Relations categorically rejects the participation of the dictator Nicolás Maduro in the Human Rights Council of the United Nations (UN).
“It is an insult to the Venezuelans, victims of so many abuses, and it does not fit the reports and accusations that exist against him for crimes against humanity,” Borges said in a message on his official Twitter account.
Through a document the representative of the Guaidó administration, addressed the members of the international community on behalf of the Interim Government of Venezuela and the Venezuelan people to express the rejection of Maduro’s participation in the inauguration of the 46th session. of the United Nations Human Rights Council that will take place from February 22nd to March 23rd of the current year.
“It is an act that violates the principles defended by this multilateral body, as well as the founding Charter of the UN,” the Commissioner underlined in the letter.
Likewise, the Venezuelan diplomat recalled that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Amnesty International repeatedly confirmed that officials under the orders of the regime carry out practices that harm the universal rights of Venezuelans. “It is not possible that with this record he intends to speak of rights and principles that he ignores,” he concluded.
