The Commissioner for the United Nations, Miguel Pizarro, denounced this Wednesday that Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship continues to persecute members of the Legitimate Government of Venezuela.
“The regime kidnaps Roland Carreño and alleges that it is holding him ‘in flagrante delicto’. To stop a person in flagrante delicto is to be in the street, to be intercepted by a van without a license plate and to disappear for more than 24 hours” detailed Pizarro through a message in his official Twitter account.
Furthermore, Pizarro informed that the Venezuelan dictatorship intends to accuse Roland of “delivering weapons of war and cash to promote violent actions” the same trumped charges used against Marrero.
Likewise, the Venezuelan diplomat indicated that yesterday, the regime freed Elías Rodríguez and Yeferson Sarcos, who were kidnapped along with Carreño.
Finally, the representative of the legitimate government before the UN alerted the international community to the violation of the human rights of journalist Roland Carreño, while reiterating that he was the victim of a forced disappearance and was interrogated without his lawyer, thus violating due process.
Alertamos a la Comunidad Internacional de la violación a los DDHH del periodista Roland Carreño, quien reiteramos fue víctima de una desaparición forzada e interrogado sin su abogado, violando así el debido proceso.
