The First Lady of Venezuela, Fabiana Rosales, called on Venezuelans to mobilize from December 5th to 12th for the Popular Consultation convened by the National Assembly and the presidency in charge. She recalled that the United Nations (UN) report was built on the declaration of Venezuelans.
“That is what the Consultation is about, make them listen to us, because that is how the UN report was built, they listened to us, after 20 years denouncing Human Rights violations. That is why we must participate so that the world continues to listen to us. The Popular Consultation is to stand up, to raise our voices, to move forward,” as stated by the head of the Office of the First Lady, during the Raise the Voice women’s meeting against fraud.
Rosales called on Venezuelans not to allow the regime to use the pandemic as a repressive mechanism, she insisted on the support of international allies to achieve democracy in Venezuela, “every country was affected by the coronavirus pandemic, even those who have the best health systems and even so the international community supports the freedom of Venezuela, that is why we must make use of the new protest mechanisms. We have to either actively participate or sit and wait for what happens, like those who see the bulls from the sidelines”.
For his part, the President in Charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, called on Venezuelans to make themselves felt and confront the farce of the dictatorship. He assured that the country refuses to settle for surviving while suffering the crisis of public services and the vulnerability that exists only because they are Venezuelans.
“We must make ourselves felt, go out and demand what is fair, that is the Popular Consultation and they will not stop us, you will not stop us Maduro, I challenge you to go out on the streets Maduro, as we do on a daily basis,” he said.
