Venezuelan President Juan Guaidó personally delivered on Monday, August 3rd, in the city of Caracas, protective supplies for doctors and nurses who continue to fight COVID-19 in the country’s on the front line, and whose contagion curve is increasing alarmingly.
“Great efforts have been made to support and back up the first line of defense of Venezuelans in the midst of the pandemic: the health sector. We are making a small contribution, as we have done throughout the country to health centers, to people who directly attend our people”.
From one of the areas of the hospital and accompanied by health personnel, Guaidó said that “it is not enough,” but we must continue to move forward. He stressed that this week there will be “very good news” regarding the economic contribution that the Health Heroes will receive.
He recalled that “for the first time in history” money has been recovered from corruption to be given directly today to those who need it most and that is why on July 25th he sent the order to transfer the resources to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the International Red Cross to provide protective equipment to health personnel working in the country’s hospitals that are on the front line fighting COVID-19. It should be noted that this transfer has already been made.
“We need to gather, seek and support as much as possible those who suffer most today, the most vulnerable sector: the health sector which is the one that defends us all, the one that takes care of us. Venezuela, we cannot rest our hands. Yes, there is a strategy, yes we are going to make a difference together”.
The also President of the National Assembly (NA) assured that the country will go through the coronavirus pandemic, and also the dictatorship.
Finally, he sent a message to Venezuelans inviting them to continue fighting to win the two battles being fought at that time: that of life, and that of freedom “so that we will never again go through a situation like this one at such a level of mediocrity and misery.”
