The President (E) of the Republic, Juan Guaido, affirmed that he will not return to the mediation mechanism of the Kingdom of Norway if it is not to negotiate the cessation of the usurpation of the dictatorship, a transitional government and free elections.
“There is no date for the resumption of the mediation mechanism of the Kingdom of Norway until we achieve some certainty of approximate solution. If we meet just to see each others faces, that does not help the people of Venezuela”, said Guaido during the press conference.
Furthermore, the Venezuelan president affirmed “if it is a negotiation for the cessation of usurpation, transitional government and free elections, we will be there, if not, we will not be there ourselves in any guise”.
Guaidó stressed that it is necessary “to make definitions in each of the spaces and to be able to achieve a few capacities that the people are lacking, which are the articulation, organization and possibility to advance together with the international pressure to end this disaster”.
He also pointed out that the designations of Presidential Commissioners made on Wednesday although they have as their main objective to address the Complex Humanitarian Emergency, they also seek to exert more international pressure against the dictatorship.
“The regime today puts a cost on the transition, it extends what is inevitable. The dictatorship is defeated, all they can do right now is to make it longer and more expensive for the people of Venezuela”, said the president.
