The president in charge of the Republic, Juan Guaidó, condemned the arbitrary detention of two journalists from NTN24 and two activists from NGO FundaRedes by FANB officials, while they were covering the armed conflict in Apure State.
“Human rights violations continue in Apure, this time against journalists just for reporting the truth of what is happening in this area between irregular groups protected by Maduro and the GNB (National Guard),” said the Venezuelan head of state through a message in his official Twitter account.
The reporters Luis Gonzalo Pérez and Rafael Hernández, and the human rights defenders Juan Carlos Salazar and Diógenes Tirado have been missing for more than 12 hours and were denied their right to establish contact with their lawyers.
Finally, President in Charge Guaidó highlighted that to date the National Assembly has denounced more than 30 human rights violations in Apure to the United Nations (UN).
