The President in Charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, highlighted the support of the allied countries in the Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), in the fight for democracy and the defense of freedom.
“With the support of our allies, ratifying Venezuela’s chair in the OAS, we accompany the struggle for democracy beyond January 5th,” he said through his Twitter account.
The national president mentioned the serious political crisis that Nicaragua is going through caused by Daniel Ortega’s regime and the constant violation of human rights in the aforementioned country.
“Today we accompany Nicaraguans and with our vote in the OAS Assembly. We reject fraud in Nicaragua, demanding that all political prisoners be released,” he said.
President Guaidó affirmed that from Venezuela, facing a dictatorship, we defend democracy and called for the union of the region to put an end to authoritarian and dictatorial regimes.
“The defense of freedom must prevail. As a region we must put an end to authoritarian and dictatorial regimes,” he stated.
