Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship destroyed public services in Venezuela. Citizens have denounced that the shortage of water, (cooking) gas and electricity has deteriorated their quality of life and they have had to chose other methods to overcome the crisis.

In Aragua State, Venezuelans continue to cook with firewood due to the lack of domestic gas(propane), which has increased sales of firewood and its price.

The people of Aragua have explained that every four days they must buy or look for firewood to be able to eat and they must keep the fire burning all day to cook, which has affected children and the elderly.

The sellers of firewood assure that every day there are more people who buy the product, which is also sold in dollars.

“Every day is worse, it is difficult. There is no gas and that is why people come and buy firewood to make their meals. There has been no gas here for more than 20 days'” explained Ángel Moreno, a local vendor.

The humanitarian crisis that Venezuela is suffering increases every day, leaving Venezuelans without options to mitigate hunger and need, while the Nicolás Maduro regime strengthens the policies that violate the rule of law in the country.
