This Wednesday afternoon, members of the High Citizen Council for Popular Consultation met virtually with ambassadors and the Diplomatic Corps of the countries of the Organization of American States (OAS) to request support and assistance in this mechanism that emanates from the citizens and thus get rid of Nicolás Maduro’s tenure.
Moderated by the Venezuelan ambassador to the OAS, Gustavo Tarre, the conversation was led by the engineer Enrique Colmenares Finol, President of the High Citizen Council for the Popular Consultation, who addressed his message to each of the representatives of the member States of the OAS so that the decision and analysis to support this manifestation of will is final.
He insisted that in this fight, Venezuelans cannot go it alone, therefore, the support that the country already has from important nations of the world, must be maintained and ratified the days of the process scheduled between December 7th and December 12th.
“We are ratifying our peaceful ways to solve our problems and this is the way, the consultation, so we turn to you to analyze the process and give it your support”, concluded Colmenares Finol.
On the other hand, Óscar López, political leader and director of the organization Venezolanos en el Mundo, announced how the voting will be carried out outside of Venezuela. He indicated that they are present in 22 countries in Europe, 20 in Latin America and also in Australia, the Arab Emirates and India, among others, constituting the groups for the Popular Consultation.
“814 Venezuelan organizations are deployed in the world, governed by 3 ideas: order, organization and discipline so that everything goes well in the Popular Consultation outside of Venezuela. The face-to-face consultation will depend on the biosecurity measures for coronavirus in each city in the world in which there is a Venezuelan, who may demonstrate with an identity card, passport and those who have lost the latter two, an alternative is being evaluated so that they can express those close to 6 million Venezuelans outside our borders.” said Óscar López.
Horacio Medina, a petroleum engineer and member of the Technical Committee for the Popular Consultation, insisted that the consultation is not of the opposition, but rather is a consultation of all citizens inside and outside Venezuela and in which 23 million Venezuelans over 18 years old can participate.

From a technical point of view, Medina reported on the trust, confidentiality and transparency of the digital platform and the application that must be downloaded in order to everyone express itself. The application suitable for iPhone and Android in the case of electronic equipment.
“Once the process is finished, that data will be eliminated. The correct dynamic is one vote per person. When you register through the application, your information goes to a cloud and is encrypted. International observation is guaranteed with the alliances that have been established with countries that support the process and as for the audit, the results will be presented and whoever is duly authorized will be able to carry it out.” concluded Medina.
