Those who make up the ‘Frente Amplio Profesional’, the Confepuv and the ‘Inprenfermería’, call on Venezuelans to accompany the brave students of Confevme in their passage through each city and each town in the fight for freedom and democracy.
Last Saturday, June 5th, a group of youth organizations, full of faith and conviction, members of the Confederation of Students of Venezuela (Confevme), began to protest in a constitutional and peaceful way to seek solutions to the crisis that the citizens of the country are suffering. The protest involves a national mobilization called ‘Ruta por Venezuela’ and has the states of Mérida, Zulia and Bolivar as its starting points to reach its final phase in Caracas on June 24th, 2021.
The objectives of these brave students is to make ‘Ruta por Venezuela’ (#RutaXVzla) “an event of great political significance, so that Nicolás Maduro’s autocratic regime realizes that the people of Venezuela have not surrendered, that we are not going to get used to this false normality that he wants to impose on us, and that we will never stop fighting to build that country we dream of,” said David Sosa, president of the Federation of University Student Unions of the Central University of Venezuela.
“We call on Venezuelans to accompany the students of Confevme as they pass through each city and each town in their fight for freedom and democracy, on a journey of more than 4,500 kilometers to raise pressure in a clear challenge to the regime. We cannot leave them alone, because Venezuela’s problem belongs to everyone,” said nursing graduate Mayra Bernal.
A ROUTE TO START NATIONAL SALVATION
“From the Broad Professional Front (Frente Amplio Profesional), the Confederation of University Professionals of Venezuela (Confepuv) and ‘Inprenfermería’, we offer all the support to these young warriors who fight to achieve better living conditions for Venezuelans. The objective they have is to build a new and strong movement of social pressure, because both they and all Venezuelans are tired of so much destruction of our beloved Venezuela,” added the Confepuv representative.
“During the Route through Venezuela, as the students have stated repeatedly, they will establish contact with the citizens to know in situ and in their own words the serious situation the people experience every day and make them understand that the solution is in our hands. During the route we expect to tell us about the high cost of living, public services in ruins and something very important, this will join with the demand for access to vaccines for everyone, as it is a right to life. Vaccines for the whole country and the need for citizens to exercise oversight and social control to prevent vaccines from falling into the hands of corruption,” highlighted Mayra Bernal.
“We see the Route through Venezuela as the beginning of National Salvation Plan, promoted by the President in Charge of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó, together with the democratic deputies of the National Assembly elected in 2015. All Venezuelans must support and undersign the National Salvation Agreement, so it is imperative to disclose its guidelines,” she asserted.
Healthcare workers affirm that they know very well that the democratic countries of the world are on the side of Venezuelans and are aware of our sufferings. “We need you to continue to support the cause of freedom. We ask that you do not leave us alone at this crucial moment in order to put an end to the political, social and economic crisis in Venezuela,” said Mayra Bernal.
“From were we stand we tell you that we are not going to allow the regime to continue destroying our dreams, that we will not let them take away our hope any more. Hope that gains more strength thanks to the Venezuelan students. We, members of the healthcare unions, will be with them in each of the states giving them all the support they request during the Route through Venezuela. Count on us because we know that we are part your concerns and that drives you not to yield in the fight,” said Ms. Bernal to conclude.
