This Monday, February 8th, the Confederation of Students of Venezuela began to take the streets of various states of the country with the aim of denouncing the destruction purposedly caused by the regime in all educational institutions in the country, as well as the the neighboring communities.
The students denounced that they, as well as teachers and workers, live condemned to starvation in the midst of a Complex Humanitarian Emergency, where salaries do not exceed $ 4 a month and where student demands were hijacked by the regime as an instrument of social control through the ‘Patria’ platform.
The students rejected that the regime through various state agencies in charge of education, and the usurping minister of universities, intends to prioritize technical over humanistic careers, without respecting the freedom of young people in choosing their university and professional careers, demonstrating the totalitarianism that characterizes the illegitimate government installed in Miraflores.
They also pointed out that the freezing of enrollments in private universities only puts their economic sustainability at risk, advancing the regime’s own objectives to be replicated in these houses of study, with the destruction that they have achieved througout the national public universities that depend on the Venezuelan State.
The students pointed out that next Friday, February 12th, Youth Day, they will continue to carry out activities in the streets, raising the voice of the student community that in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, continues to see how their rights and opportunities are destroyed by the regime.
