Venezuelans gathered at the Colombian embassy in Caracas to thank Duque for the immigration measure that favors the diaspora

Dozens of Venezuelans showed up this Friday at the Colombian embassy in Venezuela, located in Caracas, to thank Iván Duque for the creation of the Temporary Protection Statute for Venezuelan migrants (ETPV) and for his support in the fight to restore democracy in the country.

Colombia has been the nation that has first become aware of the social, political and economic crisis that Venezuela is facing and that from the very beginning has not only raised its voice before the democratic world, supporting the opposition, but has also helped the hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans who decide day by day to migrate to their territory.

Democratic forces went to the headquarters of the Colombian embassy to support those present and accompany them in their gratitude.

Delsa Solórzano, president of the Encuentro Ciudadano party, said “We are with political organizations of the Unity making a human chain expressing our deep gratitude to Colombia and President Duque for the resolution that protects Venezuelans.”

Likewise, the parliamentarian for the state Miranda stressed that the objective of the Legitimate Government is to recover democracy so that it is not necessary for the Venezuelan people to make the decision to seek a better future in another country.

For his part, the director of the office of the presidency in charge, Luis Somaza, applauded the humanitarian measure in favor of Venezuelans in Colombia.
